On “Give Me Your Love,” Anita remakes the classic Curtis Mayfield track that was released in 1972 on the soundtrack for the film “Super Fly.”  Anita recalls, “When I was planning on making this record, I was thinking, who is Super Fly these days?  And immediately I knew I had to get Snoop on the song.”  Baker’s other collaboration has her teaming up with her good friend Tyrese, the R & B singer and actor, for a remake of Tyrese’s first single, “Lately.”

Last week the song was played an average of 90 times by each pop station on Billboard’s panel, adding up to 11,816 plays across the US during the week – the highest score ever recorded.

‘California Gurls’ has spent the last three weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the US. In the UK, the song debuted this week at number one.

Friday’s line-up kicks off the festival in style with Corinne Bailey Rae, Snoop Dogg and, what promises to be a dazzling headline performance from Gorillaz, all on the Pyramid Stage while the Other Stage hosts festival favourites Hot Chip.

On Saturday UK grime star Tinie Tempah will be in the East Dance tent immediately followed by Roll Deep. Mercury nominees Laura Marling and Jamie T perform on The Park and John Peel stages with Pet Shop Boys on the Other stage.

Sunday starts with the gorgeous Norah Jones at the Pyramid Stage and rising star Professor Green in the East Dance tent. LCD Soundsystem and Empire Of The Sun bring things to a close on Sunday evening on the Other and Park Stages.

The clip, which blends 2D and 3D animation, was directed by Jemie Hewlett. The single is released on July 26. Both Snoop and Tinie will be playing at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK next weekend – Snoop on the main stage on June 25 and Tinie on the Dance East Stage the following day.

Tinie’s ‘Pass Out’ is the biggest selling single by any UK artist this year.

Priority’s Creative Chairman, Snoop Dogg, selected the 17 tracks which include recordings from NWA, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Mack 10 as well as lesser-known artists such as Mia X and Young Bleed.  In addition, the set includes a new recording by Snoop of Low Profile’s classic song ‘Pay Ya dues’. The track will be released digitally on June 29.

In addition to this new compilation, the Priority anniversary reisssue series U.S.D.A. (Uncut Snoop Dogg Approved) will continue in July with the re-release of four more classic Priority albums, as recommended by Snoop: Ice Cube’s ‘Death Certificate’, C-Murder’s ‘Trapped In Crime’, TRU’s ‘Da Crime Family’ and Snoop’s very own ‘Tha Last Meal’.

“This was my last record on No Limit Records,” writes Snoop in his new liner notes on ‘Tha Last Meal’, “So it gave me a chance to really sprout and become who I was, put a record together the way I Felt, and work with the people I wanted to work with. Master P and I made great music together, and this record right here put me in a strong position. This record had heat on it, man.”

The single is out in fully on July 26 with an iTunes single LP including the ‘On Melancholy Hill’ video and the animatic ‘Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach live show’ video featuring Snoop Dogg, remixes of ‘On Melancholy Hill’ plus a new mix of ‘Stylo’ by Labrinth and Tinie Tempah.

The performance will be televised live on ABC in the U.S. and to a worldwide audience in 215 countries and territories beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Anita Baker is currently in Nashville in the studio recording her forthcoming album due out in the Fall.  Baker will be producing the album with Nathan East, Daniel Moore, George Duke and others.  The album will include collaboration with Snoop Dogg on a “big, lush” version of Curtis Mayfield’s ‘Give You My Love’ that she promises “is going to raise eyebrows.”  The rest of the album will be original material.
