Capitol Nashville roster lands multiple CMA nods, Lady A leads with 5 total including “Entertainer of the Year” and “Album of the Year”

Capitol Nashville’s roster had a strong showing in the Country Music Award nominations, announced today, with many of them up against their label mates in several top categories. Lady Antebellum continues their amazing year with five nominations, including for “Entertainer of the Year” and “Album of the Year.”

Dierks Bentley was tapped for three awards, including “Male Vocalist of the Year,” “Album of the Year” and “Musical Event of the Year.”

Label mate Keith Urban will go head to head with Lady A in the “Entertainer” category, and is also up for the “Male Vocalist” award against Bentley.

Little Big Town is also up for “Vocal Group of the Year” against Lady A.

Luke Bryan has been nominated for “New Artist of the Year.”

Lady A to play NYC’s Central Park live, continues impressive chart moves

Lady Antebellum continued making waves on the Nielsen Soundscan charts this week, with sales for both of their albums – their self-titled debut and “Need You Now” – on the rise, as well as the release of their new EP “iTunes Session.” The EP is an iTunes exclusive that features the band doing a glorious live acoustic set of their material, as well as a cover of Tom Petty’s “Learning to Fly.”

“Need You Now” re-entered the top ten at #6, “iTunes Sessions” bowed at #17 and “Lady Antebellum” rose to #74. And the picture on the Country Album Chart was even more rosy, with all three titles in the top ten (#2, #3 and #10).

US fans can catch them live from New York’s Central Park on ABC’s “Good Morning America” tomorrow morning!

Lady Antebellum release new iTunes Session

As their album ‘Need You Now’ continues its stunning run in the US, having spent just a solitary week outside the top 10 since it came out in January, Lady Antebellum have just released a brand new seven-track iTunes Session featuring favourites from their first two albums including ‘Need You Now’ and ‘I Run To You’ as well as a cover of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers’ ‘Learning To Fly’.

The EP is available at iTunes in the US and Canada. In both countries ‘Need You Now’s sales have now been certified double platinum.

Lady A recently made their first trip to the UK, including a sell-out show at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London where they performed a great interpretation of Radiohead’s ‘High and Dry’. Check it out here:

Lady Antebellum make their first ever trip to the UK next week, including a live concert at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on August 11.

‘Need You Now’, the biggest selling album of the year so far in the US, has already made the UK top 10, and with their trip across the pond imminent, the trio have recorded this message for their British fans:

‘Our Kind Of Love’ is the latest single from their massive hit album ‘Need You Now’ which has spent the last 21 weeks in the American top 10.

Lady A Plays Grand Ole Opry’s Temporary Digs

In the wake of the terrible flooding in Nashville this Spring that left thousand of citizens homeless and dealing with the muddy aftermath, Lady Antebellum has been working hard to help give back to the community. During CMA week earlier this month, Lady A and other country music colleagues donated 100% of the proceeds of several concerts to flood relief. The flood severely damaged several music landmarks, including the venerable Grand Ole Opry. Since the flood, the Grand Ole Opry has been broadcasting from various remote locations until its home is re-done. Lady A played the Opry last week from Lipscomb University in Nashville and invites you to join them on the famous country stage. Catch the clip here.

Lady A get Teen Choice Award nod

Capitol Nashville artists win the CMT Trifecta with trophies for Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan and Keith Urban

Capitol Nashville artists scored three belt-buckle-shaped trophies at last night’s CMT Awards in Nashville. Keith Urban won Male Video of the Year for “’Til Summer Comes Around”; his first CMT win in this category. Also for the first time, the multi-platinum Lady Antebellum won Group Video of the Year for their smash hit, “Need You Now.” And the clever campaign to earn Luke Bryan a win for Breakthough Video of the Year (awarded to a video from an artists’ debut album) paid off, with Bryan nabbing the award.

Capitol Nashville’s roster also dazzled the audience with stellar performances on the show. Urban was joined on stage by John Mayer for some blazing guitar dueling in a first-time television performance of Urban’s song, “Hit the Ground Running. Little Big Town also took the stage to support artist Jamey Johnson with back up vocals. Lady Antebellum closed the show with a live debut of their next single, “Stars Tonight” (click below to watch!)

CMT Awards nominations for Lady A, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan

Yet more great news for Lady Antebellum – the trio have a leading three nominations for Country Music Television’s CMT Music Awards on June 9. In all they are up for Video of the Year and Group Video of the Year for ‘Need You Now’ and CMT Performance of the Year for ‘Lookin’ For A Good Time’ from last year’s CMT Music Awards.

Also nominated from Capitol Records Nashville are Keith Urban (Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year) and Luke Bryan (Breakthrough Video of the Year). Lady A and Keith Urban will both perform live at the show in June at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

The awards are voted for by public and voting is open now through to June 8.
