Lady Antebellum continue their stunning year with six nominations, including in the leading categories of Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Katy Perry has four nominations including Album of the Year for her number one album ‘Teenage Dream’ while Dierks Bentley has a hat trick of nominations in the Country categories.

Other EMI artists picking up Grammy nominations include Gorillaz, Goldfrapp, VaShawn Mitchell and Forever Jones who all have two nominations, plus The Beatles, Norah Jones, Keith Urban, Rosanne Cash, The Chemical Brothers, David Guetta, Little Big Town, Juan Luis Guerra, Alice In Chains, Patty Griffin, Chris Tomlin, TobyMac and Danger Mouse and many more – in all EMI artists have picked up a very impressive 47 nominations. The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on February 13, 2011. Ahead of that here’s a reminder of six times nominated Lady Antebellum’s Song of the Year contendor, the huge hit ‘Need You Now’:

“Juan Luis Guerra combines tropical rhythms, fantastic melodies and pure heart and emotion in his music.  That’s why he’s become such an influence and one of the most revered artists performing today,” said Billy Mann, EMI’s President, New Music – International, and Global Artist Management.  “He gives so much of himself to his fans and the community.  We are so proud of him.  It’s a thrill to share his music with the world.”

Juan Luis Guerra has been confirmed to perform in this year’s Premios Juventud Awards on July 15th and will be awarded with the “Premio Idolo de Generaciones” for his outstanding achievements and influence to today’s new artists and music .  US fans can catch him later this summer on “The George Lopez show” and also on “Susana ” in Argentina.

The song, a heartfelt message of hope originally written and performed by Plaza, was first released by EMI in 1985 and has since become one of the best known and loved songs in Chile. This new recording of ‘Que cante la vida’, coordinated by EMI, will be released through iTunes on April 6, with all proceeds donated to the Red Cross.

The campaign, called ‘Answer The Call’, features audio and images from musical artists encouraging fans to take action by donating to their local Red Cross to aid their relief efforts in Haiti (PSAs – Public Support Announcements).

“EMI Music has been a tremendous partner in mobilizing their artists from five continents – South and North America, Africa, Europe and Australia – and more ar ejoining each day to ‘Answer the Call’ and bring attention to the disaster in Haiti,” explained David Meltzer, senior vice president of American Red Cross International Services in a statement. “They have used their public voice to help others and we are deeply appreciative of their generosity.”

The PSA program with the American Red Cross was initiated by Billy Mann, EMI’s President of New Music, International and Global Artist Management, who said: “We thank these many talented artists for ‘Answering the Call’ and using their voices to unite and encourage others to help the Haitian people during this critical time. It is beautiful to see the overwhelming support from the artist community around the world. We hope others will follow their lead and help the Red Cross provice aid where it is most urgently needed for the people of Haiti.”
