The song, which is out now through all digital retail outlets and streaming services, is a bouyant parade of sunshiny hooks that is already the number one most added song this week at AAA format radio stations in the US.

‘Happy Pills’ surprised both Jones and Danger Mouse (aka Brian Burton) from the moment they wrote it:

“We both were like ‘Oh my God, this is awesome’ at first and then went away and listened over the weekend,” explains Jones. “We didn’t know if it fit on the record. But I couldn’t stop singing it, and neither could Brian. Eventually we decided it was too much fun, it had to be there.”

‘Little Broken Hearts’ is the fascinating next step in the artistic evolution of one of the music world’s most consistently intriguing singer-songwriters. Jones first emerged on the world stage 10 years ago this month with the February 2002 release of ‘Come Away With Me’, her self-described “moody little record” that introduced a singular new voice and grew into a global phenomenon, sweeping the 2003 Grammy Awards and signaling a paradigm shift away from the prevailing synthetic pop music of the time. ‘Come Away With Me’ has just become the 10th best-selling album of the Soundscan era and has sold 25 million copies worldwide.

The 2010 compilation ‘…Featuring Norah Jones’ showed her to possess an incredibly versatile voice by collecting her collaborations with artists as diverse as Willie Nelson, Outkast, Herbie Hancock, and Foo Fighters. Jones previously collaborated with Danger Mouse on his acclaimed 2011 album ‘Rome’, a valentine to classic Italian film score music that also featured Jack White.

The two first worked together on Danger Mouse’s acclaimed 2011 album ‘Rome’ and their connection proved deep enough that they decided to collaborate on Jones’ fifth studio album. ‘Little Broken Hearts’, which features original songs co-written by Jones and Danger Mouse, is the fascinating next step in the artistic evolution of one of the most intriguing singers to have emerged in the past decade. Jones will tour extensively in 2012, performing at a mixture of festivals, ampitheatres and theatres in the US and abroad, including her return to the Hollywood Bowl on August 10 which has been announced as part of the venue’s subscriber series. Producer Danger Mouse and Italian composer Daniele Luppi released their acclaimed album ‘Rome’ last year. Inspired by the pair’s shared passion for classic Italian film music, the record, over five years in the making, features vocals from Norah Jones and Jack White.

The music of ‘Rome’ is now being developed into a film and ‘Two Against One’, which is directed by Chris Milk and Anthony Francisco Schepperd, is an early precursor of this full length project.

Says Danger Mouse: “‘Rome’ as a whole is a piece of music with such a specific identity and history that it was crucial for all the accompanying visuals to reflect that. We had to have someone who understood what went into creating it and what it would take to bring that experience to life in a visual medium. I can’t imagine anyone could do that better than Chris Milk.”

As previously announced, Parlophone’s vinyl singles this year include the likes of Gorillaz, Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi, Beck & Bat For Lashes and Tinie Tempah.

A limited number of entry wristbands will be available on Saturday at the Rough Trade West shop on nearby Talbot Road for anyone that purchases a Parlophone or Regal Record Store Day vinyl. Purchasers can then come down and play the records they have bought and enjoy the afternoon with the label!

Lady Antebellum were the big success story of the night, winning an amazing five awards including two of the top three Grammys – Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year. The trio also won Best Country Album, Best Country Song and Best Country Performance.

Keith Urban won the Best Male Country Vocal Performance Grammy for an amazing third time, this year for ‘Til Summer Comes Around’ from his album ‘Defying Gravity’.

Other EMI Music winners included The Beatles, Iron Maiden, David Guetta, Danger Mouse, Switchfoot and Paty Griffin.
