London – EMI Group Ltd (EMI) today announced that Robert C. Wright, Former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NBC Universal and Vice Chairman and Executive Officer of General Electric Company, will join the Board of Directors of EMI Group Global Ltd, the holding company of EMI.
During his long and successful tenure at General Electric and NBC Universal from 1986 to 2007, Mr. Wright transformed NBC from a broadcast network into a global media powerhouse with leadership in cable television networks, broadcast television networks and stations, film and television production, and world-renowned theme parks. Prior to that, Mr. Wright served as President of General Electric Financial Services and, before that, as president of Cox Cable Communications.
Mr. Wright is Co-Founder of Autism Speaks, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation and Mission Product, LLC, and is a Trustee of the New York Presbyterian Hospital. He is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Palm Beach Civic Association and Senior Advisor of THL Capital.
