London 23 May, 2011 — Abbey Road Live, the leader and innovator in quality live recording and immediate distribution, today announced that it is partnering with Grammy Award winning artist Peter Frampton to record his forthcoming global 35th anniversary tour of ‘Frampton Comes Alive!’. The agreement will enable Frampton fans attending the concerts to purchase high quality CDs featuring that night’s performance, immediately after each show.
The sets, which cost $35, include a high quality three CD DigiPak recording of the concert, featuring the complete performance of ‘Frampton Comes Alive!’, plus an audio documentary in which Frampton is interviewed by legendary rock radio personality Redbeard. There will be a maximum of 1000 limited edition, numbered sets produced for each show of the tour which kicks off on June 15 at Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey.
For those who cannot attend the shows or prefer to have it shipped rather than collected, the sets will be available to pre-order online from Monday 23rd May at www.abbeyroadliveus.com, to be shipped directly to fans anywhere in the world.
Peter Frampton commented, “I’m really looking forward to having a great sounding CD of the evening’s music ready as you leave any show this year. If you need to rush we’ll send it to you. I have already been working with Abbey Road Live tweaking the sound and the results have been amazing. I couldn’t wish for better people to be working with to be able to bring you the memory of “your show” the same night. Abbey Road Live says it all anyway!”
Zach Bair, head of Abbey Road Live in the Americas, added, “We are very excited to be recording Peter, and being a part of rock history. This original album captured the hearts and imaginations of a generation and by making the live recordings we hope to take his music to the next level and offering something completely new to Peter’s fans that they will never forget.”
Peter Frampton is one of the most celebrated artists and guitarists in rock history. Aged 16, he was the lead singer and guitarist for the British teen band The Herd, before co-founding Humble Pie with Steve Marriott of the Small Faces. After five albums, Frampton went solo in 1971. His 1976 seminal album ‘Frampton Comes Alive!’ spawned the hits ‘Baby, I Love Your Way’, ‘Show Me The Way’ and ‘Do You Feel Like I Do’ and is now certified six times platinum in the United States. It remains one of the biggest selling live albums of all time.
Abbey Road Live is a division of EMI Music and specialises in creating high quality live recordings and products at concerts using up-to-the minute technology. The Abbey Road Live team can take customer orders prior, during and after concert and fulfil those orders at the venue after the performance or by shipment.
