EMI Music and Guetta events agree F*** ME I’M FAMOUS joint venture partnership

PARIS, 22 OCTOBER 2010 — EMI Music have signed a joint venture agreement with Cathy and David Guetta’s Guetta Events company, to turn the Ibiza dance marque F*** ME I’M FAMOUS into a global dance brand.

F*** ME I’M FAMOUS was launched as an Ibiza club night by Cathy Guetta in 2001, and has firmly established itself as the leading dance and lifestyle brand on the island.

As a result of the new partnership between EMI Music and Guetta Events, F*** ME I’M FAMOUS will now be expanded globally, with major events and club nights planned around the world alongside a range of supporting merchandise and music compilations.

The deal further expands EMI Music’s successful relationship with David Guetta, who first signed a recording contract with the company in 2001. Since then he has sold three million albums and 15 million singles, produced ‘I Gotta Feeling’ for The Black Eyed Peas and has collaborated with Kelly Rowland, Will.I.Am, Fergie, Akon, Rihanna, and Kid Cudi among others. Nominated five times for a Grammy Award, David won the Best Dance Remix award in 2010. In the past year alone he has DJed to over three million people and performed in more than 200 different cities worldwide.

Cathy Guetta said: “This association with EMI will help us to ensure that the success of the Ibiza FMIF nights will now be felt around the world. We’re looking forward to working in partnership with the team there to create a truly international brand.”

David Kassler, CEO of EMI Music Europe/ROW, commented: “You only have to attend one of the club nights in Ibiza to understand the importance of FMIF to dance music fans. Cathy and David have done a great job establishing it as such a strong brand in Ibiza, and everybody at EMI is excited about working in collaboration with them to take it on to the next stage of its development.”

Olivier Montfort, President of EMI Music France said: ”We’ve had ten years of working with David Guetta, and the relationship just keeps getting stronger. This partnership will enable us to help him and Cathy achieve further well-deserved international success, and at the same time continue to strengthen our involvement in dance music at a time when dance and house are very much at the centre of youth and popular culture.”
