London, 2 December 2010 – EMI Group has appointed Ruth Prior as Chief Financial Officer, it was announced today by EMI Group CEO Roger Faxon.
Prior will take responsibility for all the company’s financial functions at the group level, including planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis. She will work in close co-operation with the divisional CFOs Shane Naughton (EMI Music) and Thomas Kelly (EMI Music Publishing).
Reporting directly to Faxon, Prior will take up the post immediately and will be based in EMI’s London headquarters. Prior has spent the last three years as a senior adviser to both EMI Music and EMI Music Publishing in her role as Finance Director for Portfolio Business at Terra Firma.
Roger Faxon commented: “As we continue to implement the vision of EMI as a global rights management business, it’s vital that we have an accomplished and experienced financial head in place. Ruth brings not only a very strong track record in corporate finance, but a clear understanding of the business and its operations. She has been a great champion of EMI over the last three years, and I am delighted that she will be joining us to help drive our strategy forward.”

Ruth Prior began her career at Unilever, before holding a number of financial and commercial roles at Whitbread and Bass. She joined Terra Firma Capital Partners Limited in 2002, focusing on operational, financial and commercial due diligence for new deals, as well as the implementation of operational and strategic agendas within portfolio companies including Waste Recycling Group and Infinis. She is a Chartered Management Accountant and holds a degree in Biochemistry from Birmingham University.
