Stingray Digital adds EMI Music Canada catalogue to new Galaxie Music Videos on Demand service

MONTREAL, December 3, 2009 – Stingray Digital, a Montreal-based company with strong growth in the international digital media sector, announced today a multi-year, multi-platform agreement with EMI Music Canada to add the label’s music video content to the Galaxie Music Videos on Demand service. The Galaxie Music Videos on Demand (MVOD) service was launched on Rogers Digital Cable in September this year and will be soon offered by other television service providers.

“The Galaxie Music Videos On Demand service has been growing in popularity since the launch in September,” stated Eric Boyko, president of Stingray Digital “and now, with access to the historic library from EMI, viewers are going to find even more of the top music video content they seek. The EMI library will further strengthen the Galaxie MVOD service with videos that span works from today’s chart toppers and legendary artists.”

“We recognize that music fans want to be able to select and watch the music videos of their choice, on a range of platforms, including their television screens. The Galaxie Music Videos on Demand service is the perfect platform for delivery of the latest and the most requested music videos,” said EMI Music Canada President Deane Cameron. “We look forward to working with Stingray Digital and the Galaxie programming team on the development of Galaxie MVOD across various platforms.”

This new service from Stingray Digital, the first of its kind in Canada, allows viewers to select their choice of music videos, or select and watch professionally-programmed music video playlists. There are hundreds of popular videos of all genres ready to be watched at the viewer’s convenience. In the US, the equivalent music videos on demand service is the number one VOD service by monthly views across all categories.

With The KARAOKE Channel on VOD in more than 42 million homes in North America and in Europe, and now Galaxie Music Videos on Demand being rolled out across Canada, Stingray Digital is quickly establishing themselves as one of the major suppliers of video on demand content worldwide.
