Stand Up for a Cure™ (SUFAC) is a New York State Non-Profit Organization committed to raising funding and awareness for lung cancer research and providing patient support and advocacy for people living with, or at risk for, the disease. Lung Cancer is the #1 cause of all cancer related deaths and yet remains the most underfunded. Plagued by a stigma that lung cancer is a “disease of smokers”- we now know this to be empirically untrue. As a result, SUFAC has committed to fight lung cancer by funding innovative research and increasing awareness of the world’s leading cancer killer, including a focus on non-smoking-related lung cancer. Through electrifying concerts and performances featuring world renowned performers including; the Dave Matthews Band, Bon Jovi, Barry Manilow, Jerry Seinfeld and Brian Wilson, SUFAC has raised over $2 million in its first year.
