LONDON, 23 APRIL 2009 – Andria Vidler has been appointed President of EMI Music UK and Ireland.
A former Managing Director of Capital Radio and of Magic 105.4, Andria is currently Chief Marketing Officer at Bauer Media. Bauer is home to 53 consumer magazines, including heat, GRAZIA, Closer and leading music titles Q, Mojo and Kerrang!, 42 radio stations including Magic 105.4 and Kiss, and TV channels including 4Music through its joint venture with Channel 4.
In her new role, which she will take up this summer, Vidler will lead all of EMI Music’s operations in the UK and Ireland, reporting to David Kassler, EMI Music’s President, Europe.

As Managing Director of Magic 105.4 from 2005 to 2008, Vidler is credited with turning the station into London’s leading commercial radio station, a position it has now held for over two years.
From 2001 to 2003 Vidler worked for Capital Radio Group as Managing Director, Capital Network where she played a central role in a review which resulted in the restructure of eight independent local radio stations to create a single-branded trade national network.
Prior to this, Vidler spent seven years at the BBC. She was recruited in 1994 by Sue Farr and Jenny Abramsky who had been impressed with her work as an account director at StillPrice/Lintas on the launch of Radio Five Live, Britain’s first continuous news and sport radio station. She was brought in as marketing manager for Radio Five Live responsible for growing station awareness and audience share.
In 1996 she was promoted to Head of Marketing for BBC News. Her remit included developing an over-arching marketing and communication’s strategy across all television, radio and online news output. Two years later, Vidler moved to the role of Head of Marketing & Business Development for BBC Sport. During this time she worked closely with the Director General on all competitive sport contract tenders including Test Match Cricket, Premiership and the FA Cup and Wimbledon.
