EMI Music, one of the world’s largest independent record companies and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, a global leader in the hospitality industry, have joined forces to create a unique new music initiative.
The program will allow Fairmont to infuse music into a range of guest experiences including in-room music access to preferred entry to exclusive live events and concerts. The arrangement will also add music to a favourite established Fairmont hotel benefit, known as Fairmont Fit, which at the program’s launch will supply guests participating in Fairmont Fit with pre-loaded digital music players featuring hundreds of tracks from EMI Music artists across all genres to improve the guests’ workout experience.
Through Fairmont President’s Club, the company’s guest recognition program, members will also have the ability to access EMI artist’s music exclusively via CD or digital download – whatever option best suits a guest’s individual preference and lifestyle. Membership is complimentary and the program offers special benefits and privileges designed to reflect guest preferences and offer an enhanced level of service.
This multi-phase music program, which is being initiated through Canada, will launch this fall throughout the hotel company’s impressive North American portfolio, whose collection includes The Fairmont San Francisco, Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York and The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. This will quickly expand to other countries for a global presence.
As the only major music company offering its entire digital catalogue in a premium, DRM-free, higher audio quality form, EMI is unique among major music companies in their ability to offer Fairmont customers music that will work on all music players and devices.
“Partnering with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is a great fit for EMI Music,” says Sean Hutchison, Director of Digital Business Development at EMI Music Canada. “It allows EMI artists a new avenue to showcase their music at Fairmont properties around the world, while also enhancing the Fairmont guest’s stay through personalized music experiences. Also, since EMI can offer Fairmont clientele with DRM-free, high-quality downloads, we know all customers can benefit from this program.”
“EMI Music is very excited to be launching this creative initiative with one of the premier luxury hotel brands in the world,” states Deane Cameron, President of EMI Music Canada. “As the landscape of lifestyle marketing and servicing customers evolves, we are thrilled to have our incredible roster of artists continue to be at the forefront.”
“We are continually seeking new benefits and services that our Fairmont President’s Club members and guests believe are relevant to them and thus add real value to their lives,” states Jeff Senior, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. “Working with EMI illustrates how a partnership can truly enhance our guest’s affiliation with our brand, from providing pre-loaded MP3 players for use during their workouts to exclusive access to concerts by the top names in the music business.”
