Katy Perry’s new single is ‘The One That Got Away’

Global pop superstar Katy Perry has confirmed that her new single from her international hit number one album ‘Teenage Dream’ is ‘The One That Got Away’. The previous five singles from ‘Teenage Dream’ all peaked at number one in the US on the Hot 100, a first for any female artist in the chart’s 53-year history and only the second time this amazing success has been achieved by any artist.

“I’m so pleased to select ‘The One That Got Away’ as my 6th single because this song shows a very different side of me that I haven’t shown with my past singles on this record,” says Katy. “I think that everyone can related to this song. I wrote this song about when you promise someone forever, but you end up not being able to follow through. It’s a bittersweet story – hopefully, the listener learns from hearing it and never has to say they had ‘The One’ get away.”

A video for ‘The One That Got Away’ will be shot in the coming days. In the meantime, here’s a reminder of Katy’s last video, for her btilliant number one smash ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’:
