New to UK TV screens are the exploits of the music-making, skateboarding, crime-fighting Rastamouse and his crew.
Broadcast on the BBC’s CBeebies children’s channel, the animated series features a series of fun, fast-paced episodes blending English, Street dialogue and Patois, built on the philosophy of ‘Makin’ a bad ting good’. Music – reggae, rap and hip-hop’ – is crucial to the series and features songs written by Andy Kingslow who has worked with Lily Allen, Dizzee Rascal, Corinne Bailey Rae and other. The first single, ‘Ice Popp’ is out now, and the soundtrack album will be released by EMI on May 16.
