Virgin Records is very proud to announce the much anticipated debut single by Emeli Sandé, a new artist who as a writer has been behind some of the biggest UK hits of 2010.
The first single from the 24-year-old from Aberdeen in Scotland is ‘Heaven’, a euphoric feel good summer track featuring Emeli’s subtle yet soaring vocals which will be released on August 15.
As a songwriter Emeli has scored two top 10 hits – grime Godfather Wiley’s ‘Never Be Your Woman’ and Chipmunk’s ‘Diamond Rings’ which she also co-wrote. She has also co-written/featured on tracks with Tinie Tempah (‘Let Go’), Professor Green (‘Kids That Love To Dance’) and Tinchy Stryder (‘Let It Rain’).
Emeli has been confirmed as the only support for Alicia Keys’ June 13 concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall, and she has also been confimed to peform at Inverness Rockness (Rock n Roll Circus) tomorrow, June 11, the Aberdeen Northern Lights Festival (July 30) and at Inverness Belladrom (August 6).
Clearly a name to look out for, you can listen to Emeli’s great debut single ‘Heaven’ right here:
