Breakout electro inspired hip-hop duo Chiddy Bang have confirmed the release of their highly anticipated debut album. ‘Breakfast’ will be released in the UK on March 5 next year through EMI’s Parlophone Records and Spin magazine has already declared it to be ‘one of the most anticipated debuts’ coming up.
‘Breakfast’ was written over the course of 2011 whilst the duo – rapper/MC Chidera ‘Chiddy’ Anamege and producer Noah ‘Xaphoon Jones’ Bersin – toured extensively throughout the US , Europe and Australia.
The last 12 months have been an incredible year for the Philadelphia duo. Their infectious debut single ‘Opposite of Adults’ passed sales of 500,000 in the US and was certified gold. In the UK the track reached no.11 in the charts and in March the song’s video, which to date has now been viewed an incredible 16 million times, won the Best Video Woodie Award at the 2011 MTVU Woodie Awards.
Additionally, Chiddy Bang had more celebrations in April when they broke not one but two Guinness World Records. On April 29, while streamed during MTV’s inaugural Online Music Awards, Chiddy set both the world record for the longest freestyle rap and the longest marathon rapping award by rapping continuously for an astonishing 9 hours, 18 minuts and 22 seconds, never breaking for more than three seconds.
