Utada Hikaru is one of the most successful recording artists in Japan and her concert on Wednesday, December 8, at Yokohama Arena sold out within hours, but it has today been confirmed that the show will be broadcast live around the world through Ustream.
The Ustream account page – the main channel at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/wl1 for PCs and http://www.ustream.tv/channel/wl2 for smart phones. Both channels are now open.
Wednesday’s concert will be streamed live at 7pm (19:00 hours) Japan time which is nine hours ahead of GMT, 15 ahead of Eastern Standard Time in the US.
The concert is also being broadcast live to 70 screens in 64 movie theatres across Japan, making it the country’s largest ever live broadcast performance.
Utada Hikaru’s new album ‘Single Collection Vol.2′ is out now. Hikaru recently announced that she is planning to take a break from recording from the end of this year. Last month EMI reached a new agreement with her and her management office for a new global recording contract for when she returns.
