North American fans of legendary trip hop collective Massive Attack have been waiting patiently since 2006 for the group to play live, and this week, they’ll be rewarded with what BuzzNet is calling an ‘epic’ show.
The group is touring in support of support of their lastest studio album, ‘Heligoland,’ released with a career high chart entry in February on EMI’s Virgin Records. The album features an star cast joining founding members Robert Del Naja (3D) and Grand Marshall (Daddy G), including Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval, Martina Topley-Bird, Elbow’s Guy Garvey, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe and Damon Albarn.
For their live show, Del Naja tells Rolling Stone that the stage will feature a giant “news ticker,” broadcasting words punctuated with bright lights to evoke today’s global political and economic climate.
