Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” is the NY Post’s Song of the Summer

Katy Perry and her track “California Gurls” has now conquered the hearts and minds of East Coast Americans!  Her homage (featuring Snoop Dogg) to the US West Coast was proclaimed the #1 song of the summer by a panel of music cognescenti assembled by the New York Post.   This is the second trip to the top for Ms. Perry, who two years ago took the #1 summer song spot with her smash hit, “I Kissed a Girl.”

Sharon Dastur, program director of powerhouse NYC radio station Z100 describes the vibe of “California Gurls”:  “It’s upbeat, it makes you feel happy.  You can picture yourself letting your hair down and driving all the way to the beach in a convertible.”

Get into the spirit and catch the video below.
