Gorillaz‘s “Plastic Beach” was named #1 and LCD Soundsystem’s “This is Happening” clocked in at #5 on NPR Music’s influential list, “the 2010’s Best Music (So Far).” Determined by a nationwide poll of its audience members, several other artists in the EMI family made the top 20, including Sweden’s The Knife for their experimental opera project “Tomorrow, in a Year” (Mute) at #18, and EMI Label Services-distributed Broken Social Scene (Arts & Crafts) come in at #19 with “Forgiveness Rock Record.”
In addition, Yeasayer’s “Odd Blood” (Mute UK) made the list at #12 and Jónsi’s “Go” nabs the #17 spot.
