Congratulations to Iron Maiden whose latest album, ‘The Final Frontier’, has this week rocketed to the top of the charts in the UK and 20 other countries with more charts still to be confirmed.
At EMI we’re very proud of our 30 year, career-long involvement with the band, during which time they have firmly established their well earned status as one of the foremost contemporary and influential rock bands in the world. ‘The Final Frontier’ is their fourth UK chart topper, and as well as its string of number ones the album has debuted in the top 10 around the world including at number two in Australia, Belgium and Holland.
Iron Maiden recently completed one of the most successful North American tours of the summer, playing to over 350,000 fans at 25 concerts, and headlined a series of major festivals in Europe. They will hit the road once again in 2011 with further extensive touring.
Thirty years after their eponymous debut album in April 1980 and with more than 80 million albums sold, Iron Maiden are more creatively vibrant, dynamic and relevant than ever. Here’s a reminder, if any was needed, of why, with their current single, the album’s title track, ‘The Final Frontier’:
